Knowledge Mobilization

I-CAN is designed as a research-for-development initiative in which the research is aimed at providing a foundation for action and policy development. The project recognizes that research utilization needs to consider not only the dissemination of information but also the social processes involved in the linkages and exchanges among researchers, policymakers, practitioners and local communities.

Accordingly, to translate knowledge into action, I-CAN will engage both communities and local and national policy makers in each step of the way using an ambitious set of initiatives for translating research into informal and formal policies and communicating with the public.
