Governance & Team Members
The ICAN team is diverse and includes representatives from academic, research, non-governmental, community-based, and international organizations working on conservation and development issues in East Africa.
The governance of the project is structured as follows:
- ICAN’s Steering Committee is made up of the two principal investigators and the executive director of the African Conservation Centre (ACC);
- The steering committee consults and collaborates with members of the ICAN Advisory Board (Co-applicants and collaborators with “AB” beside their names below);
- The co-chairs of ICAN’s four working groups (listed on the Working Groups page) together with members of the steering committee and the project coordinators collectively make up the Project Management Committee, which is responsible for managing research activities in Kenya and Tanzania by communicating with partner organizations and allocating funds to site-specific research teams. Project Management Committee members are denoted with (PMC) below.
